FEB 2020 - Arias from The Kangaroo of the Rainforest , Peter Michael von der Nahmer and Cynthia Lewis Ferrell's rainforest opera ballet, are performed to live orchestra at this year's Snapshot Festival in San Francisco and Berkeley, California. The Kangaroo (El Canguro) explores the collision of ancient culture and new wealth in Tikal, Guatemala. Co-produced by West Edge Opera and Earplay, the annual festival selects new works by California-based librettists and composers through competitive submissions. Selections are conducted by Mary Chun.
